History of the chamber This chamber was founded in February 1888 as the Board of Trade, changing its name to the chamber of commerce in 1912. It was founded to give the business community a voice in the affairs affecting them, much the same reason the chamber exists today. While the Chillicothe Ross Chamber is a member of both the state and national chambers of commerce, it is governed solely by its own board of directors. The Chamber office The chamber’s home at 45 E. Main St. is a one-stop place for members and developers. Greater Chillicothe Ross County Development and Downtown Chillicothe also have spaces in the Business Center office. In addition, the OSU Small Business Development Center out of Piketon uses our conference room on an as-needed basis to help counsel people looking to start businesses in the area.
